ARD conducts various Community Empowerment Programmes in the villages with a special stress on Leadership Training Programmes, Effective Relationships, Importance of Human Rights, Personal Empowerment, Psychological development, Effective Communication etc.
ARD focuses mainly on building the competencies and skills of the unemployed youth who have completed their school and college studies and have not continued their further education due to financial burdens at home. We provide skill trainings on ‘MS Office and Excel,’ ‘Desktop Publishing,’ and ‘Tally Accounting’. Till date we have trained more than 800 unemployed youth - both boys and girls - and placed them at jobs successfully..
ARD believes that Women Empowerment in India is one of the most effective tools for the development of the nation. We regularly conduct various innovative programmes for their overall development, such as Awareness on Gender Discrimination, Importance on Women Education, Women Entrepreneurship Programmes etc. We have continuous in -house training for ‘Basic Sewing Machine Operators’, ‘Beauticians’, and ‘Nursing Assistant’ every three months. Till date we have trained around 450 women in the above skills and job placed them.
ARD strongly believes that Primary and Secondary Education is the basic tool for any type of empowerment in the society. Hence ARD continuously networks and collaborates with Government Organizations and Non- Government Organizations in providing best education possible for the children from poor families. Till date ARD is able to educate and uplift around 2500 children
Action for Rural Development (ARD) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 to empower marginalized communities in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. ARD focuses on uplifting women, unemployed youth, and children from economically weaker backgrounds. The organization operates in several mandals, including Kanchikacherla, Nandigama, Veerulapadu, Chandralapadu, Ibrahimpatnam, Vastavai, Jaggaiahpeta, Penuganchiprolu, Nuzvid, Mylavaram, and Vijayawada.
ARD forms and strengthens Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to promote financial independence among women. Skill development training in tailoring, handicrafts, and food processing enhances women's earning potential. Awareness campaigns educate women on their legal rights, health, and hygiene. ARD runs free tuition centers to support the education of underprivileged children. Scholarship programs help prevent school dropouts by offering financial assistance. The organization works to improve school infrastructure and provide study materials. Vocational training in computer literacy, plumbing, and agriculture enhances youth employability.
ARD partners with businesses to facilitate job placements for trained youth. Free health camps and medical check-ups provide healthcare access to rural populations. Maternal and child health programs support pregnant women and new mothers. Sanitation awareness campaigns promote hygiene and waste management practices. Sustainable farming training educates farmers on organic and water conservation techniques. ARD provides financial aid and technical support to small-scale farmers.
Environmental initiatives include tree plantation drives and water conservation projects. Legal aid programs offer free counseling and support to marginalized individuals. Disaster relief efforts provide emergency aid, shelter, and long-term rehabilitation. Leadership training empowers communities to participate in local governance. ARD remains committed to fostering self-reliance and sustainable development among disadvantaged groups.

Healthcare is another crucial aspect of our work, as we conduct free medical camps and awareness programs on maternal health and sanitation. Our support for farmers includes training in sustainable farming techniques, financial aid, and market linkages. Environmental conservation remains a key focus, with afforestation drives and water conservation efforts enhancing rural resilience.
We also extend our efforts to legal aid, disaster relief, and leadership training, ensuring that communities can advocate for their rights and participate in governance. Through our initiatives, we are building a self-reliant and empowered society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
